{"id":115360,"date":"2024-09-27T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-27T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=115360"},"modified":"2024-09-26T15:39:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T20:39:16","slug":"covid-19-vaccines-for-colleagues-are-limited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/09\/27\/covid-19-vaccines-for-colleagues-are-limited\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 vaccines for colleagues are limited\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/09\/11\/roll-up-your-sleeve-its-time-to-get-vaccinated\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">As announced earlier this month<\/a>, influenza and COVID-19 vaccine administration for UNMC faculty, staff and students and Nebraska Medicine colleagues begins next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nebraska Medicine received an allotment of COVID-19 vaccines this week, but the quantity is smaller than expected due to supply chain issues nationwide. The vaccines are being prioritized to patients and pharmacies. The organization still plans to offer COVID-19 vaccines to colleagues, but distribution will be limited.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what colleagues need to know about getting their COVID-19 vaccine:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ambulatory clinics that are located outside of Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center and Village Pointe will receive a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines for administration to the med center community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All colleagues who work at Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center, Village Pointe and ECCP will need to attend a drop-in clinic to receive their COVID-19 vaccine, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nebraskamed.com\/search\/locations?service%5B0%5D=Pharmacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nebraska Medicine pharmacy<\/a> or stop by another local pharmacy or primary care provider\u2019s office.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employee Health will do its best to have COVID-19 vaccines available at drop-in clinics, but&nbsp;<strong>due to limited availability, the vaccines might not be available at every clinic<\/strong>. The exact number of vaccines available for each clinic will be determined in collaboration with pharmacy the day of the event.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If anyone with UNMC or Nebraska Medicine receives their COVID-19 vaccine outside of a Nebraska Medicine drop-in clinic, they should document it in the Health Tracking System as having received it at an alternate location.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If Nebraska Medicine receives additional COVID-19 vaccines and access is expanded, an update will be shared in UNMC Today and Nebraska Medicine NOW.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nebraska Medicine received fewer vaccines than anticipated.
