{"id":115889,"date":"2024-10-14T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-14T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=115889"},"modified":"2024-10-11T08:54:47","modified_gmt":"2024-10-11T13:54:47","slug":"dr-fadul-named-medicines-associate-dean-for-faculty-affairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/10\/14\/dr-fadul-named-medicines-associate-dean-for-faculty-affairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Fadul named medicine&#8217;s associate dean for faculty affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Nada Fadul, MD, has been named the associate dean for faculty affairs in the UNMC College of Medicine,&nbsp;effective Nov. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In making the announcement, UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, said Dr. Fadul will oversee development, personnel actions and policy issues for UNMC College of Medicine faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDr. Fadul is an outstanding leader and will play an important role in helping support and retain our talented faculty in their professional growth and development at UNMC,\u201d Dr. Britigan said. \u201cWe are fortunate to have her breadth of leadership, expertise and engagement within the college and the dean\u2019s office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her new role, Dr. Fadul\u2019s duties include dean\u2019s office oversight and coordination for promotion and tenure processes, faculty development programs, faculty appointment and retention, faculty and leadership evaluation, mediation of faculty concerns and oversight of college governance processes. She will collaborate with the Faculty Council, college and university leadership, and health system partners to develop and implement initiatives pertaining to faculty well-being and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am truly humbled and honored to accept the position of associate dean of faculty affairs,\u201d Dr. Fadul said. \u201cUNMC has been instrumental in my professional growth, and I am excited to give back by supporting our exceptional faculty. I look forward to working closely with our talented faculty and leadership teams to cultivate a culture of academic excellence, innovation and professional development. Together, we will continue to uphold the mission of the UNMC College of Medicine while advancing faculty engagement on all fronts.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Wad Medani, Sudan, Dr. Fadul joined UNMC in September 2018.
