Witnessing the heartbreak from the loss of one\u2019s child, in conjunction with the extreme living conditions of some participants and intergenerational trauma experienced by the Indigenous women, made me want to commit my life\u2019s work to improving maternal and child health at the population level. Why epidemiology specifically? I\u2019ve always been a \u201cmath person.\u201d After I took my first epi course, I was hooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Postdoctoral training, University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Boston University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD in epidemiology, Boston University School of Public Health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MPH dual concentrations in biostatistics and epidemiology, Boston University School of Public Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Memberships:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul started undergrad as a voice performance major and ended up minoring in music.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My grandfather was a codebreaker for the U.S. during World War II.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After I had my
