{"id":116391,"date":"2024-10-23T13:47:36","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T18:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=116391"},"modified":"2024-12-27T14:51:18","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T20:51:18","slug":"ritecare-conference-offers-education-networking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/10\/23\/ritecare-conference-offers-education-networking\/","title":{"rendered":"RiteCare Conference offers education, networking"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>More than 80 attendees from a dozen states attended the RiteCare Conference hosted by the Munroe-Meyer Institute in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference offered sessions on leadership, literacy, speech and language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a good way for the RiteCare community to meet and learn from each other,\u201d said Susan Fager, PhD, director of MMI\u2019s Speech-Language Pathology Department. \u201cIt offered a nice mix of clinical and leadership training with opportunities to connect and collaborate with RiteCare clinics across the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/mmi\/services\/speech\/ritecare.html\">RiteCare Clinics<\/a> offer care to patients with a wide range of speech and language disorders. The clinics, which are spread across the country, are funded by the Scottish Rite Masons. Nebraska locations, which include three affiliated with MMI, are in Omaha, Lincoln, Hastings and Kearney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RiteCare Conference is held every two years in one of the cities where RiteCare has clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to education opportunities, attendees were able to tour and learn about MMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Fager said, \u201cIt was a great opportunity to showcase MMI\u2019s unique clinical work for children with communication needs to a national audience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very fortunate, and we\u2019re doing some really special things here at MMI,\u201d she said. \u201cIt makes you realize that we\u2019re on the right track, and it makes you thankful for the wonderful resources we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\"
