{"id":116458,"date":"2024-10-28T01:57:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T06:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=116458"},"modified":"2024-10-27T18:32:35","modified_gmt":"2024-10-27T23:32:35","slug":"human-resources-launches-project-921","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/10\/28\/human-resources-launches-project-921\/","title":{"rendered":"Human resources launches &#8216;Project 921&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Human resources has announced a new project underway that is focused on replacing PeopleAdmin and implementing an SAP SuccessFactors integrated system for recruiting, onboarding and performance and goals management business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Branded as &#8220;Project 921,&#8221; this initiative involves all campuses of the University of Nebraska and the Nebraska State College System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, there are six independent PeopleAdmin systems supporting recruiting. Performance management tools utilized by departments and campuses differ greatly across the University of Nebraska and Nebraska State College System.\u00a0Likewise, a number of different processes are used to onboard new employees, and as a whole these business transactions are inefficient and costly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project goal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project 921 will bring integration, consistency and collaboration to these disparate systems through a modern application suite called SuccessFactors that can be used by all campuses and interfaces with the SAP system. The desired outcome is an efficient solution that offers long-term value to all campuses. The core goals include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Increased collaboration<\/strong> across campuses by being able to work in the same application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modern integration <\/strong>with existing technology to improve flexibility and streamline procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enhanced functionality <\/strong>with new, upgraded features to improve the business processes for internal and external recruitment, onboarding and performance and goals management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project 921 will bring capabilities such as enhanced applicant screening and tracking, electronic forms for pre-boarding and onboarding and online goal management and performance review and feedback. Additionally, this will enable a uniform application of policies and procedures for greater compliance in these human resources services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human resources leaders have enlisted the time and talents of multi-campus subject matter experts to serve on the project team.\u00a0The project team members, using business process knowledge and experience, collaborate with implementation partners to define tasks, evaluate system requirements and make decisions for the improvement of our future operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a tremendous opportunity for us to embrace the use of today\u2019s technology and the collaborative commitment from across all campuses to attract and attain top talent,\u201d said Sheryl Gartner, Project 921 project manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This commitment of resources will help ensure that this new solution addresses the needs of the University of Nebraska and the Nebraska State College System today and establishes a solid foundation for continuous improvement into the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next steps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first phase of Project 921 will deliver the recruiting and onboarding functionality in the first quarter of 2025.
