{"id":117586,"date":"2024-12-02T02:02:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T08:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=117586"},"modified":"2024-11-27T12:50:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T18:50:10","slug":"unmc-creighton-to-co-host-interprofessional-education-conference-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/12\/02\/unmc-creighton-to-co-host-interprofessional-education-conference-2\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC, Creighton to co-host interprofessional education conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>UNMC and Creighton University will jointly host Collaborating Across Borders IX, North America\u2019s largest international conference dedicated to advancing the field of interprofessional education and collaborative care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the theme of &#8220;Converging Currents: Enhancing Health Outcomes through Interprofessional Collaboration,&#8221; the conference is scheduled for May 27-30, 2025, in Omaha at the Downtown Hilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC is represented by Devin Nickol, MD, UNMC\u2019s associate dean for interprofessional education and a professor of general internal medicine, while Creighton is represented by Jenny Jessen, EdD, executive director for the Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research and an assistant professor in the Creighton University College of Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCollaborating Across Borders is a great conference and a wonderful opportunity for UNMC faculty, staff and students to get their work in front of an international audience,\u201d Dr. Nickol said. \u201cIt\u2019s also a great place to learn about what\u2019s going on in the field of collaborative practice and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very lucky to have this conference taking place in our own backyard, and anyone with an interest in interprofessional scholarship will get a lot out of attending.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collaborating Across Borders IX is co-sponsored by the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative and the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event reflects the commitment to enhancing patient care and outcomes through interprofessional teamwork.
