{"id":118461,"date":"2025-01-07T01:58:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-07T07:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=118461"},"modified":"2025-01-06T09:34:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T15:34:17","slug":"unmc-ice-rink-is-open-for-skating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/01\/07\/unmc-ice-rink-is-open-for-skating\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC Ice Rink is open for skating"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The UNMC Ice Rink has reopened following repairs for a mechanical issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The hours for skating are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mondays and Thursdays: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 4 p.m.-8 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (UNMC campus intramurals take place those evenings.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fridays and Saturdays: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sundays: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The skating season is being extended due to the previous closure. The new closing date for the rink will be Feb. 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission for the public is $7, which includes skates. Cash or credit card only \u2014 no checks or debit cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission is free for members of the med center and university community as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UNMC, University of Nebraska at Omaha, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska at Kearney and Clarkson College staff and students, along with Nebraska Medicine employees and students, along with their spouse\/partner and children. Must present a valid university ID badge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ronald McDonald House employees and house guests. Must present a valid ID badge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check weather closures by going to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/theiceattheunmc\">Facebook<\/a>&nbsp;or by calling 402-559-0697. Free parking is available in Lot 15, the surface lot on 40th Street between Dewey Avenue and Emile Street, located on the north and east sides of the UNMC Center for Healthy Living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skaters may bring food and beverages.
