The 2nd Annual UNMC Transplant Symposium is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical center has a history of caring for patients with end-stage organ failure and transplantation as a curative treatment. The presence of an active clinical program in all forms of solid organ transplant, including heart, lung, liver, kidney and intestine offers unique opportunities for the medical center as a transplant center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The care and treatment of transplant patients require a multidisciplinary and interprofessional approach. Collaborative innovation in clinical care, as well as research from a foundational, translational and clinical nature, holds the promise of a positive impact on patient outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This symposium will provide opportunities for internal collaboration and external engagement for the transplant programs at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine and create a framework to lead the world in transforming lives to create a healthy future for all individuals and communities affected by end-stage organ failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The keynote speaker will be Keren Ladin, PhD, associate professor in the departments of occupational therapy and community health at the Tufts University School of Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
