to highlight biopreparedness"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Discover the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/exhibits.unmc.edu\/whc\/bioprep\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cBiopreparedness in Nebraska\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;exhibition through the eyes of exhibit curator Darby Kurtz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this McGoogan Sessions Health Sciences History Hour, Darby \u2013 assistant professor with the McGoogan Health Sciences Library, archivist and public historian \u2013 will share the history of biopreparedness as displayed in the exhibition in the Wigton Heritage Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Event details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Event: \u201cBiopreparedness in Nebraska: A History and Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Exhibit\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date: Wednesday, Jan. 29<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time: Noon-1 p.m. CST\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Location: <a href=\"https:\/\/unmc.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_oA8-UVEDToGkMfvTDdTGqw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Zoom<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the exhibit, Kurtz\u2019 presentation will focus on the period from the 1990s when the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory moved to the medical center campus to present day responses and research that mark new milestones on the Nebraska biopreparedness timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The talk also will cover additional information about stories that are part of the exhibit and provide insights into curatorial decisions and processes that led to the display.&nbsp;Questions for Kurtz about curating the exhibit are encouraged.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am really excited to share more about the history behind this exhibit as well as what went into producing the final display in the Wigton Heritage Center,\u201d Kurtz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This talk will take place on the fifth anniversary of the&nbsp;opening of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/healthsecurity\/programs\/tsqc\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Training, Simulation &amp;
