{"id":119953,"date":"2025-02-28T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=119953"},"modified":"2025-02-27T15:28:32","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T21:28:32","slug":"election-set-for-inaugural-unmc-staff-advisory-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/02\/28\/election-set-for-inaugural-unmc-staff-advisory-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Election set for inaugural UNMC Staff Advisory Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Beginning next week, staff members will have the opportunity to vote \u2013 and elect \u2013 the inaugural UNMC Staff Advisory Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online voting will run Monday, March 3, through Friday, March 7, for the 32-member council, which will act in an advisory capacity to the chancellor, campus administration and other university groups on behalf of all staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff who started on or prior to July 1, 2024, are eligible to vote. <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/unmcvote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vote for the inaugural council members here<\/a> or \u2013 once the &#8220;voting booth&#8221; opens \u2013 via the email that will be sent directly to eligible voting staff from the UNMC Staff Advisory Council account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals who are elected will serve a three-year term of April 2, 2025, through June 30, 2028. Council service time of elected staff members shall be counted toward normal work hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNMC Staff Advisory Council will promote and facilitate communication between UNMC administration and staff throughout UNMC\u2019s colleges and departments. The council will represent all employees and will include members from these 11 groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UNMC College of Allied Health (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC College of Dentistry (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC College of Medicine (nine members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC College of Nursing (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC College of Pharmacy (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC College of Public Health (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute (three members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Academic Affairs\/McGoogan Health Sciences Library (two members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Administration\/Office of Business and Finance (four members)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (two members)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Results will be announced after approval by UNMC Interim Chancellor H.
