A separate list of the top 60 student teachers with at least three evaluations and the top 60 resident teachers with at least three evaluations was compiled. If a faculty member was on both the resident top teacher list and the student top teacher list, they were determined to be a \u201cTop Teacher\u201d (24 faculty members were on both lists). The remaining faculty members on either of the two lists were then placed on a composite list and their student and resident evaluations were compiled for a weighted average. From this composite list an additional 35 faculty members were chosen as \u201cTop Teachers.\u201d The faculty receiving excellent evaluations for their basic science lectures (Z score&gt;1.0 SD) also qualify as a top teacher unless they were on the previous list (one additional faculty member met this criteria this year).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Internal Medicine also has \u201cTop Teacher\u201d designations in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/intmed\/education\/index.html\">fellowship programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UNMC Department of Internal Medicine released its Top Teacher Awards for 2024 based on student and resident evaluations.&nbsp;
