Oupicky to receive Kinman Oldfield Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>David Oupicky, PhD, professor in the UNMC Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, will receive the 2025 Vada Kinman Oldfield Award for Research in Alzheimer\u2019s Disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Oupicky will receive the award at a ceremony on April 23 from 10-11 a.m. in the Wigton Heritage Center Atrium.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award, established by Barney Oldfield and named for his wife, is given annually to a UNMC investigator in the UNMC Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Palliative Medicine who has conceived promising new ideas in Alzheimer&#8217;s research.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Oupicky said he was deeply honored and grateful to receive the award.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a relative newcomer to Alzheimer&#8217;s research, this generous support represents a significant expression of trust and confidence in my vision,\u201d he said. \u201cAs an applied pharmaceutical scientist committed to developing practical solutions to real-world challenges, this award will enable me to rigorously test our initial hypotheses and lay the groundwork for a promising research future.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy hope is to contribute meaningful advancements that will positively impact the lives of those affected by Alzheimer&#8217;s disease and their families.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He thanked the Kinman-Oldfield Family Foundation for \u201cthis invaluable opportunity and support.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kinman-Oldfield Family Foundation also will award its annual Nancy and Ronald Reagan Scholarship Awards, given to investigators pursuing promising, innovative work in Alzheimer\u2019s research, to eight UNMC medical students at the ceremony:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rishiram Baral<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Malia Bennetts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Amin Foroughi Nezhad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Peace Johnson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wyatt Morse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adedayo Ogunware<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>William Taylor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arianna Tidball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These awards support the initial efforts of junior faculty
