UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, and Chandra Are, MD, senior associate dean of graduate medical education at UNMC, provided opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presenters on Tuesday included a number of residents and fellows in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. Pranav Renavikar, MBBS, a surgical pathology fellow, received an outstanding research award for best poster presentation. Thomas Auen, DO, a third-year resident, was awarded best oral presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oral presentations in one session, moderated by Dr. Joseph Khoury, the department chair, included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thomas Auen<\/strong>, DO, third-year resident: \u201cA Tough NUT to crack: An institutional review of multifocal NUT carcinomas\u201d and \u201cCAPNON: A rare case with long-term follow-up\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ahmed Sabri<\/strong>, MD, hematopathology fellow: \u201ct(9:14Xp13;q32) lymphomas: Case series and review of the literature\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pauline Xu<\/strong>, MD, PhD, first-year resident: \u201cImmunohistochemical analysis of the role of Wnt\/\u03b2-Catenin signaling in pathogenesis of sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation\u201d and \u201cClinicopathologic and molecular characterization of primary gastrointestinal melanoma\u201d and \u201cIgG4-positive plasma cells in cutaneous versus extra-cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman disease\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Poster presentations in another session, moderated by Drs. Jesse Cox and Subodh Lele, included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thomas Auen<\/strong>, DO, third-year resident: \u201cAn autopsy case of polymicrobial cardiac abscesses with cultured <em>K.
