Awards included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Siddappa Byrareddy, PhD,<\/strong>&nbsp;pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, received a grant of $844,946 from the DHHS\/NIH\/NIDA to study cannabinoid inhibition of CNS inflammasome activation via modulation of the gut-brain axis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Howard Gendelman, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, received a grant of $736,036 from the DHHS\/NIH\/NIMH to study targeted lipid nanoparticles for gene therapeutics delivery approach to eradicating HIV reservoirs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shilpa Buch, PhD,<\/strong>&nbsp;pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, received a grant of $441,154 from the DHHS\/NIH\/NIDA for the study \u201cMolecular interplay of HIV Tat, cocaine, and cART in microglial pyroptosis: Role of NLRP3 inflammasome.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Russell McCulloh, MD,&nbsp;<\/strong>pediatrics-hospitalists, received a grant of $89,194 from the University of Kansas Medical Center for implementation of the new pediatric obesity clinical practice guidelines in rural families and clinics: a randomized clinical trial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Joshua Bies, MD,&nbsp;<\/strong>pediatrics-hematology\/oncology, received a grant of $27,026 from the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium for a trial of low vs. moderate exposure Busulfan for infants with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) receiving TCRa\u00df+\/CD19+ depleted transplantatiol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roslyn Mannon, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;internal medicine-nephrology, received a grant of $2,766 from the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute for staffing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Angela Yetman, MD,&nbsp;<\/strong>pediatrics-cardiology, received a grant of $700 from Baylor College of Medicine for \u201cOutcome Modeling and Decision Making for Hereditary Thoracic Aortic Disease Using the Collaborative for Longitudinal Aortic Imaging in the Young.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry-sponsored grants and contracts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following industry-sponsored grants and contracts were received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mara Seier, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;neurological sciences, received funding for a trial of Lu AF82422 in participants with Multiple System Atrophy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ronald Zolty, MD, PhD,<\/strong>&nbsp;internal medicine-cardiovascular, received funding to assess the efficacy and safety of TX000045 After 24 weeks of treatment in patients with pulmonary hypertension secondary to heart failure with preserved ejection fraction; and funding to assess the safety and efficacy of Vutrisiran in patients with transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kelsey Klute, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;internal medicine-oncology\/hematology, received funding for a trial of Quemliclustat and chemotherapy vs. placebo and chemotherapy in patients with treatment-naive metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rana Zabad, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;neurological sciences, received funding to evaluate the safety and clinical activity of Azercabtagene Zapreleucel in participants with B-cell mediated autoimmune disorder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jason Payne, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;internal medicine-cardiovascular, received funding for \u201cPULSED AF Post-Approval Study, an Addendum to the PulseSelect PFA Global Registry.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bhavina Sharma, MD,<\/strong>&nbsp;internal medicine-oncology\/hematology, received funding for a study of inhaled KB707 in patients with advanced solid tumor malignancies affecting the lungs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hani Haider, PhD,<\/strong>&nbsp;orthopaedic surgery, received funding for an <em>in vitro<\/em> wear durability study of the Maxx
