This annual event celebrates heart and stroke survivors, promotes physical activity, heart-healthy living and raises funds for research, advocacy and CPR training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s walk will be held at The RiverFront, 1001 Douglas St. A group photo for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine registered teams will take place at 9:15 a.m. Walkers can begin their one- or three-mile walk at 9:30 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine community has 100 registered walkers, 17 teams and has raised a combined total of $4,203.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.heart.org\/site\/TR?fr_id=7987&amp;pg=company&amp;company_id=399366\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Find information on joining a UNMC and Nebraska Medicine team., opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find information on joining a UNMC and Nebraska Medicine team.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.heart.org\/site\/TR?fr_id=4912&amp;pg=informational&amp;type=fr_informational&amp;sid=1020\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"See more general information on the walk and the American Heart Association, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See more general information on the walk and the American Heart Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC and Nebraska Medicine are sponsors of the event and are looking for volunteers to help at the survivor lane. The survivor lane is at the end of the race and volunteers will help cheer them on as they finish. There will be pom poms and hand clappers available.
