The Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society held its induction ceremony on May 6. It was the 111th<\/sup> induction for the University of Nebraska Alpha Omega Alpha Chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the evening banquet, nationally recognized leader in medical education David Fleming, MD, professor emeritus of medicine and director of the Center for Health Ethics at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, gave a noon presentation titled \u201cDoctor, Please Help Me Die.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Nate Anderson, MD, chair of the medical student selection committee, said it\u2019s a tremendous honor to celebrate the newest inductees and award recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe AOA represents the highest standards of excellence, integrity and service in medicine and is the most prestigious national medical honor society in the United States. Each of these students has demonstrated remarkable commitment not only to academic achievement, but also to leadership, community engagement, service and research,\u201d Dr. Anderson said. \u201cWe continue to be inspired by their accomplishments and are proud to recognize their well-deserved induction into this distinguished society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
