On July 1, Nebraska Medicine and UNMC will transition to a new clinical decision support tool, DynaMedex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This platform will replace UpToDate as the institution’s primary resource for evidence-based clinical information. DynaMedex will be accessible through OneChart, via a Nebraska Medicine and UNMC online portal, on desktop computers and through a mobile app to all users who currently have access to UpToDate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To guide this decision, Nebraska Medicine conducted a comprehensive six-week trial of DynaMedex, during which it was evaluated alongside UpToDate. A multidisciplinary committee of 109 clinical faculty and staff \u2014 including department chairs, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, nurses and pharmacists, as well as medical students, participated in the trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participant feedback was reviewed by an evaluation committee led by Samuel Bierner, MD, chair and professor for the UNMC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the findings, the committee recommended transitioning to DynaMedex. This recommendation was subsequently endorsed by the Medical Group Executive Committee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are pleased to support the transition to a new tool that meets the evolving clinical decision support needs of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC,\u201d Dr. Bierner said. \u201cOne feature of DynaMedex that stood out to the evaluation team was Dyna AI, which uses retrieval-augmented generation-based AI to provide answers to clinicians\u2019 natural language queries. We anticipate that this will allow for quicker access to peer reviewed evidence and enhanced workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDynaMedex is among several cutting-edge tools we are introducing this year to enhance information management and promote greater efficiency in clinical workflows.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

UpToDate access will end on June 30. Clinicians who want to claim continuing education credit through UpToDate must do so by that date. Beginning July 1, CE credit will be available through DynaMedex.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
