While the current landscape may feel daunting, I am continuously inspired by the resilience, dedication and unwavering commitment demonstrated by each member of our community. As we navigate through a challenging year marked by budget reductions and the absence of collegewide salary increases, it is vital to pause and reflect on the remarkable achievements that define our College of Nursing.

Enrollment Growth: A Testament to Our Commitment to Workforce Development<\/strong>

Despite financial constraints, we have continued to move forward with initiatives to increase student enrollment. Twice-a-year admissions are now in place at Kearney and Lincoln, with Omaha launching in spring 2026. This growth is a clear indication of the trust and confidence prospective students place in our programs. Our ability to attract a diverse cohort of students speaks volumes about the quality of education we provide and the positive impact our graduates have in the health care field. Let\u2019s continue to nurture this momentum by fostering a supportive environment that empowers our students to thrive.

Innovative Research Projects:\u00a0Advancing Nursing Practice<\/strong>

Our faculty have been at the forefront of groundbreaking research that shapes the future of nursing practice. This year, we are continuing our innovative research projects that not only enhance our academic reputation but also contribute to the betterment of patient care. Your hard work and dedication to inquiry are paving the way for new discoveries that can transform health care systems. I encourage you to continue pursuing research opportunities, as they not only enrich your professional journey but also inspire our students. CRISP hosted a community symposium this spring highlighting \u201cStrategies for Bridging Community and Science Together.”

Accessible Health Care: Faculty Practice Model<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recently received notification that our NP Fellows Program has received full CCNE accreditation. This is an incredible accomplishment and solidifies the value of our nurse practitioners in ensuring that residents in the state of Nebraska receive quality, accessible health care. We have NP faculty in more than 25 clinics across the state with initiatives underway to expand our practice model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 
Exceptional Educational Experiences: Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders<\/strong>

The educational experiences we offer are second to none. Our commitment to experiential learning, clinical placements and simulation training equips our students with the skills necessary to excel in their careers. The dedication of our faculty in mentoring and guiding students is instrumental in shaping compassionate and competent nursing leaders. Let us celebrate the innovative teaching methods and collaborative projects that enhance the learning experience and prepare our students for the challenges of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating Our Accomplishments: A Strong Community<\/strong>

In the face of adversity, our faculty and staff have continued to achieve remarkable accomplishments. At our recent annual meeting, both staff and faculty were recognized for all their accomplishments over the past year. Your contributions are a source of pride for our college. Let us take a moment to applaud these achievements, which not only elevate our college but also inspire our students to aim high.

As we move forward, I encourage each of you to remain engaged, supportive and optimistic. Our strength lies in our ability to adapt and innovate, even in the face of challenges. These challenges cannot define us unless we allow it; instead, let it inspire us to excel and create in ways that we have not imagined! Together, we will continue to build a vibrant college community that not only meets the needs of our students but also contributes meaningfully to the nursing profession.
