Elizabeth Bradford Bell, MD, has been appointed program director for the UNMC Department of Otolaryngology \u2013 Head and Neck Surgery residency program effective July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An assistant professor, Dr. Bradford Bell joined UNMC in 2019 after completing training in head and neck oncologic surgery as well as reconstructive surgery. She has extensive experience and a passion for resident education. She served as assistant resident program director prior to her new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more thrilled to step up and into the role of our residency program director,\u201d Dr. Bradford Bell said. \u201cMy predecessor, Dr. Christie Barnes, brought phenomenal change to our program, and my goal is to continue our growth, build upon the positive culture we have fostered for our residents and do everything in my power to help every one of our trainees find success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Bradford Bell’s clinical practice includes surgical head and neck cancer care, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, thyroid surgery and salivary gland surgery. Her research interest is in outcomes-based research for the head and neck cancer population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She earned her medical degree from Wake Forest, completed her residency at Emory University in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and did a fellowship at University of Miami in microvascular head and neck surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She succeeds Christie Barnes, MD, who has served as program director since 2018.<\/p>\n
