The \u201cKismet\u201d garden featured sprawling flowers, bushes and water features. Including, on June 8, a light rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steady rain didn\u2019t deter garden walkers from turning out for the Munroe-Meyer Guild\u2019s 56th<\/sup> Annual Garden Walk. At the Kismet garden, located at a home near 79th<\/sup> and Pacific streets, the space was dotted with umbrellas and raincoat-clad garden-goers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walk drew nearly 1,000 guests through six Omaha-area gardens. <\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cDespite the rainy weather, we had a great turnout,\u201d said Jennifer Read, president of the Munroe-Meyer Guild. \u201cI always love the day of the Garden Walk. It\u2019s when all the hard work from everyone in the guild truly comes together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funds raised support innovative programming and research at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guild has a history of using its fundraising to provide seed grant funding for successful MMI programs, including GoBabyGo! Nebraska, the Opportunity Brew Coffee Cart and the virtual-reality Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy (HABIT) Camp.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
