I am also deeply committed to medical education and take pride in mentoring residents and interns. Helping to train the next generation of skilled, compassionate and trustworthy physicians is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How I fell in love with medicine and my specialty:<\/strong>&nbsp;I&#8217;ve always been drawn to numbers, math and medicine \u2014 optometry uniquely brings all of these together. What truly captivated me, however, was the human eye. Though it\u2019s such a small part of the body, it&#8217;s incredibly complex and provides us with our most treasured sense: sight. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Memberships:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>American Academy of Optometry&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;American Optometric Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clinical volunteer for the Special Olympics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three things people might not know about me:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I\u2019m an avid runner and once completed a marathon along the mountains in Oman.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have a passion for global exploration \u2014 I\u2019ve skied in the Arctic Circle and sailed around Central America.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I regularly
