Webster, Donnelly to fill expanded roles in Allied Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Two members of UNMC College of Allied Health Professions leadership have taken on expanded duties to ensure continuity in support and leadership within the college as Dean Kyle Meyer, PhD, assumes additional external roles at the medical center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Meyer recently was appointed associate vice chancellor for health workforce initiatives. Dr. Meyer will lead the newly established UNMC Office of Health Workforce Initiatives, while also serving as Armstrong Family Distinguished Chair of Rural Healthcare Workforce Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tammy Webster, PhD, formerly associate dean for academic affairs for allied health, will become the executive associate dean of the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions until a permanent dean of the college is appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Webster, a Developing Excellence in Academic Leaders fellow at the University of Nebraska (NU DEAL), has held several leadership positions within the college and across UNMC, including faculty coach for the UNMC Office of Faculty Development, and co-chair of the UNMC Education Council. She recently completed a graduate certificate in education law and policy from the University of Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to taking on an administrative role, Dr. Webster was a nationally recognized educator as program director of UNMC\u2019s radiography, computed tomography and cardiovascular interventional technology programs. She\u2019s been featured on the cover of ASRT Scanner, a bimonthly magazine published by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amber Donnelly, PhD, formerly associate dean for student affairs, will add oversight of academic affairs in the college to her portfolio, becoming the associate dean for academic and student affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Donnelly, M. Patricia &amp; James W. Leuschen Professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions, has overseen allied health\u2019s strategic enrollment processes, including marketing, recruitment, admissions and student life and career services for more than five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She served previously as director of UNMC\u2019s cytology program for more than 20 years. With colleague Manju Mukherjee, PhD, Dr. Donnelly is a pioneer in the use of virtual microscopy, which has helped position UNMC as one of the nation\u2019s leading cytology education programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Donnelly recently passed the prestigious International Academy of Cytology (IAC) examination to become a member of the IAC, the world\u2019s largest global organization for cytopathologists, cytotechnologists and scientists in allied fields. In addition, she was personally invited by the president of the IAC to serve on the Foundation Committee, recognizing her expertise and contributions to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are enormously talented,\u201d Dr. Meyer said of Drs. Webster and Donnelly. \u201cTheir collective knowledge of the college and dedication to our faculty, staff and students will ensure the ongoing success of the college as I assume an expanded role at the campus level.
