Dr. Bennett replaces Amir Farhangpour, DDS, in the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn his time as chair of the department of adult restorative dentistry, Dr. Bennett has led the department with vision, collaboration and a commitment to clinical and educational excellence,\u201d said Gerard Kugel, DMD, PhD, dean of the college. \u201cUnder his leadership, the department has expanded its focus on digital dentistry, curricular innovation, and access to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn addition to guiding the college\u2019s digital dentistry initiative, Dr. Bennett has helped to launch impactful programs that align with our mission of service,\u201d Dr. Kugel said. \u201cHe co-created the VetSmile program providing comprehensive, donor-supported dental care at no cost to Nebraska veterans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working with Dr. Bennett as he transitions into this key leadership role.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Bennett began his teaching career at the college in 2016, after serving as a dental corps officer in the United States Navy, later joining the full-time faculty in 2019. He is a graduate of the Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry and completed a general practice residency at NavalHospital Camp Pendleton. He also is currently completing his PhD as part of the Clinical andTranslational Research Mentored Scholars Program, with research focused on 3D printed prosthetics with antimicrobial effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Kugel also named Richard Bokemper.
