{"id":126040,"date":"2025-09-26T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=126040"},"modified":"2025-09-25T15:58:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T20:58:33","slug":"nursings-new-emergency-care-program-receives-full-validation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/09\/26\/nursings-new-emergency-care-program-receives-full-validation\/","title":{"rendered":"Nursing\u2019s new emergency care program receives full validation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The UNMC College of Nursing has achieved a major milestone in advancing emergency care education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sept. 3, the college\u2019s new Emergency Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate Program received national validation from the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners \u2014 the official recognition that the program meets rigorous national standards for ENP education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inaugural cohort of the ENP program will begin in January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners validation ensures that academic ENP programs deliver high-quality education, with strong curriculum design, program leadership and alignment to ENP competencies. This 16-credit program follows a hybrid format, combining online coursework with in-person intensive training and clinical training over 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the first cohort are open now through Oct. 15 via <a href=\"https:\/\/nursingcas.liaisoncas.org\/apply\/#\/deeplink\/programSearch\/organization\/9180424720405760000\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"this Nursing CAS link, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this Nursing CAS link<\/a>. To support prospective students, the UNMC College of Nursing will host a virtual informational session on Sept. 17 via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Hays said she looks forward to welcoming the program\u2019s first students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis program is not only an investment in our graduates, but in the communities they will serve.
