UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, has named a 14-person committee to provide a comprehensive review of Don Klepser, PhD, to examine whether he should be appointed as permanent dean of the UNMC College of Pharmacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A faculty member the college since 2005, Dr. Klepser has served as interim dean since January 2025. He is a professor in the UNMC Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. He holds a PhD in pharmacy from the University of Iowa, an MBA in marketing and strategic management from the University of Minnesota and a BA in communications from the University of Michigan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karoly Mirnics, MD, PhD, dean and director of the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute, will serve as chairman of the review committee. The review will include focus group listening sessions; solicitation of external letters of evaluation; interviews with Dr. Klepser and other stakeholders; and a presentation by Dr. Klepser for faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mirnics and the committee will compile all feedback, prepare a final recommendation and report to Dr. Davies, who would decide whether to extend an offer. As with other senior-level positions, Dr. Klepser\u2019s appointment would be subject to approval by the NU Board of Regents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
