UNMC College of Dentistry attends Harvest Moon Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty and student volunteers from the UNMC College of Dentistry attended the Harvest Moon Festival, held at the Antelope Park bandshell in Lincoln on Oct. 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dental student Payton Alber, who volunteered at the Asian Community and Cultural Center\u2019s event, said this type of community engagement was important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s said that one of the hardest parts of dentistry is getting the patients in your front door,\u201d Alber said. \u201cThese community events allow us to start education on how to best take care of your teeth while at home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alber and classmate Erin Alexander used models of teeth to show children the proper way to brush \u2013 \u201cand that can make the difference in the future of a patient’s teeth,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
