{"id":128327,"date":"2025-12-18T01:56:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T07:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=128327"},"modified":"2025-12-12T14:10:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T20:10:54","slug":"unmc-prepares-for-2026-interprofessional-education-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/12\/18\/unmc-prepares-for-2026-interprofessional-education-days\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC prepares for 2026 Interprofessional Education Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>UNMC will bring together first- and second-year students during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/academicaffairs\/educational\/ipe\/ipe-days.html\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Interprofessional Education Day, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Interprofessional Education Day<\/a> events in February and March, offering participants a powerful learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Future health professionals&nbsp;will have the opportunity&nbsp;to&nbsp;step out of their individual programs and into collaborative, real-world teamwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first event will be held Feb. 11&nbsp;for first-year students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A March 4&nbsp;event will be for second-year students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sessions are signature pillars of UNMC\u2019s commitment to preparing graduates who understand that excellent care requires not just clinical skill&nbsp;but also communication, trust, compassion, shared&nbsp;responsibility&nbsp;and team-based practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During IPE Day, students engage in&nbsp;facilitated&nbsp;discussions, collaborative problem-solving and interactive activities centered on shared clinical challenges. Through these exercises, students&nbsp;observe&nbsp;how&nbsp;the&nbsp;perspectives&nbsp;provided by&nbsp;nursing, medicine, pharmacy, public health, dentistry, PT\/OT and more&nbsp;contribute essential pieces to a fuller understanding of patient-centered care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each IPE Day depends on thoughtful, curious and enthusiastic faculty facilitators.&nbsp;Nearly 80&nbsp;faculty members volunteered last&nbsp;fall,&nbsp;and UNMC hopes to engage even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty facilitators help guide dialogue, offer insight into professional roles and encourage respectful, team-based\u00a0learning. Volunteers need not be content experts,\u00a0only committed to supporting collaborative learning and reflection.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to get involved<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty
