It was during that rotation that I realized I loved the interaction between physiology and patient care. I loved thinking through different organ systems and evidence-based care for each therapy provided and how that came together to treat critically ill children. As I got further into my training, I enjoyed thinking through things at a systems level to ensure quality care and patient safety are involved in each decision we
