Access to UNMC\u2019s web publishing now is limited\u00a0to editors who work regularly in UNMC&#8217;s content management systems and are proficient, if not expert, in meeting requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This reflects changes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.unmc.edu\/index.php\/Web_Governance\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"UNMC Web Governance Policy, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNMC Web Governance Policy<\/a>&nbsp;approved Dec. 22 by the UNMC Web Governance Board, particularly to the section on <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.unmc.edu\/index.php\/Web_Governance#Maintaining_CMS_Access\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"maintaining access to content management systems, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">maintaining access to content management systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The updated policy reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to keep a CMS account in good standing, content contributors will need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively edit assigned sites and pages over the course of the previous six months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow our web standards and guidelines in maintaining pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Content contributors who do not actively edit their assigned websites and pages for six months or more will be notified that their access is being removed by Information Technology. In order to restore access, content contributors must repeat all training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every six months, the web team of Strategic Communications and Information Technology will look for an active pattern of edits by every editor throughout the preceding six months. We will notify staff members who are slated to lose access, and we will take into consideration special circumstances that might have affected how much editing was done.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other policy changes include replacing the Web Advisory Group with a Teams site for UNMC web content developers, updating the list of web publishing tools and updating some links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC
