University of Nebraska President Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, Nebraska Medicine CEO Michael Ash, MD, and UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, spoke with the chairs of the UNMC College of Medicine\u2019s clinical departments Thursday evening.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a productive meeting where the chairs and chiefs came together to provide clarity on recent events and to talk about the shared commitment to the future,\u201d Dr. Gold said. He thanked medical center leaders for convening the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other members of Nebraska Medicine\u2019s leadership team, including Kyle Skiermont, PharmD, chief operating officer;\u00a0Kelly Vaughn, chief nursing officer; Harris Frankel, MD,\u00a0chief medical and external affairs officer; Stephanie Daubert, chief financial officer; and\u00a0Anna Cramer, chief people officer and chief legal & compliance officer, also attended.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was good to have not just the clinical chairs but also members of the executive\u00a0leadership of Nebraska Medicine there,\u201d Dr. Davies said. \u201cThere is a single vision\u00a0among the med center\u2019s leaders for the continued momentum and bright future of\u00a0Nebraska Medicine.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThursday night\u2019s conversations were based on our commitment to our shared mission,\u201d Dr. Ash said. \u201cThroughout the entire process, we have all consistently agreed that Nebraska Medicine is an essential resource for the state and we look forward to our future.\u201d   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Davies said: \u201cLeaders from both UNMC and Nebraska Medicine want to see Nebraska Medicine succeed, and we are united in making that happen.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting came following the news on Thursday that the University of Nebraska and Clarkson Regional Health Systems had appointed an interim board of Nebraska Medicine, with Dr. Davies as chair.
