The Olson Center and Nebraska Medicine Cardiovascular Services series is designed to bring attention to this health issue. Each session will be provided virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For registration information, call the Olson Women\u2019s Health Resource Center at 402-559-6345 or <a href=\"mailto:OlsonWHRC@unmc.edu\">email the Olson Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sessions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pulmonary Hypertension<\/strong>; Feb. 5, noon CST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christina Dunbar Matos, DO, of Nebraska Medicine, will discuss the causes, symptoms and treatment of  pulmonary hypertension, which is high blood pressure in the lungs. The symptoms, such as fatigue and shortness of breath, can be severe. Treatment of this disease depends on the type of pulmonary hypertension present. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heart Failure with Preserved Heart Function<\/strong>: Feb. 10, noon CST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer Nickol, DO, of Nebraska Medicine, will present on diastolic heart failure, which affects women more than men. While the \u201csqueeze function\u201d of the heart is stable, the ability of the heart to relax is impaired \u2013 leading to edema, shortness of breath and fatigue. This talk will discuss symptoms and treatment of this disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coronary Artery Disease and Myocardial Infarction<\/strong>: Feb. 17, noon CST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pallavi Satuluri, MBBS, of Nebraska Medicine, will speak on coronary artery disease. The disease affects women and men, but is more prevalent in women as they get older. This talk will discuss the risk factors, symptoms and treatment of this disease. If attendees would like to obtain nursing credit, the cost is $15.&nbsp;Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration.&nbsp;Nursing credit can only be obtained for watching the live stream of the virtual presentation, not for viewing the recording after the event.&nbsp;Course ID:&nbsp;26OL00003<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alcohol and the Heart<\/strong>: Feb. 26, noon CST: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kali Gagnon, DO, of Nebraska Medicine, will discuss how &#8212; from raising blood pressure to triggering irregular heartbeats &#8212; alcohol influences the heart in ways that often go unnoticed. This talk will explain these effects to help attendees understand how drinking shapes heart health.<\/p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"\/secure-location.php\" style=\"display: none;\" title=\"KaP
