Omaha Performing Arts is offering discounts on tickets to UNMC students and employees for upcoming select shows. Select shows include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“& Juliet,” <\/strong>March 3-8. A 10% discount on price levels 3, 4, and 5, plus reduced handling fees on all price levels. Valid for all performances except Saturdays. Created by David West Read, the Emmy-winning writer of “Schitt\u2019s Creek,” this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, asking what would happen if Juliet didn\u2019t end it all over Romeo. Juliet\u2019s new story bursts to life through a playlist of pop anthems as iconic as her name, including \u201cSince U Been Gone,\u201d \u201cRoar,\u201d \u201cBaby One More Time,\u201d \u201cLarger Than Life,\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s The Way It Is,\u201d and \u201cCan\u2019t Stop the Feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Endea Owens & The Cookout<\/strong>,”March 13.<\/strong>\u00a0A 10% discount plus reduced handling fees.\u00a0Owens evolves the legacy of great leaders behind the bass. Citing her mentors as Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker and Ron Carter, she approaches her sets with commanding presence, sensitivity and a foundation primed for spontaneity. Known as one of jazz\u2019s most vibrant emerging artists, Owens has toured and performed with Wynton Marsalis, Diana Ross, Jon Batiste, Jazzmeia Horn and Dee Dee Bridgewater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“National Geographic Live: Discovering the Galapagos,”<\/strong> March 15. A 10% discount plus reduced handling fees. The Galapagos Islands sparked the world’s understanding of evolution and adaptation 175 years ago. Now, with marine ecologist and National Geographic explorer Alex Hearn as guide, discover the Galapagos anew through groundbreaking science and remarkable wildlife. This journey through natural history begins with Charles Darwin\u2019s arrival and explores how these untouched ecosystems continue to inspire discovery today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Etienne Charles and Creole Soul,” <\/strong>March 19. A 10% discount plus reduced handling fees. Trinidad\u2011born Etienne Charles is a performer, composer and storyteller who uses music to provoke thought and dialogue. His lush trumpet sound and percussive grooves tackle complex subjects while soothing and exciting listeners. “Earth Tones” is a multimedia jazz performance featuring original compositions documenting regions most affected by climate change, highlighting nature\u2011based solutions through music, images and short films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“SIX The Musical,”\u00a0<\/strong>March 25-29.\u00a0A 10% discount on price levels 3, 4 and 5, plus reduced handling fees on all price levels. Valid for all performances except Saturday evening. From Tudor queens to pop icons, the six wives of Henry VIII remix 500 years of historical heartbreak into a celebration of 21st\u2011century girl power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
