The University of Nebraska now is accepting applications and nominations for the next chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the public posting of the position profile, NU outlines the opportunity for the UNMC chancellor, who serves as both chief administrative officer and leader of a comprehensive academic health sciences enterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The search currently is open only to employees of the University of Nebraska System. NU may expand the search at any time during the internal search process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe next Chancellor will guide UNMC at a time when demand for health professionals is rising, workforce shortages persist, research funding environments are increasingly competitive, and rapid advances in medical sciences and technology are reshaping health care delivery,\u201d NU\u2019s profile says. \u201cThis role calls for a leader who can align academic, research, and clinical priorities while strengthening the institution\u2019s ability to serve communities across Nebraska and the region. The Chancellor will play a critical role in maintaining UNMC\u2019s commitment to excellence while positioning the institution for continued innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications, expressions of interest, nominations and questions should be submitted to NU\u2019s executive search firm, CarterBaldwin, at this email address<\/a>: UNMCChancellor@carterbaldwin.com. Internal applicants should send a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest via that email, addressed to the Chancellor Search Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial internal applications will be reviewed starting April 3; the position is considered open until filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A search committee comprised of representatives from UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, each of the four NU campuses and members of the community<\/a> will lead the process. Interim NU Executive Vice President and Provost\u00a0David Jackson, PhD, is serving as the lead search coordinator within the NU System and will convene the search committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a priority candidate is identified, the candidate will participate in a 30-day public vetting process, which includes visiting the UNMC campuses in Omaha and across the state. The vetting process will provide the priority candidate with opportunities to engage with students, faculty, staff and the broader Omaha and Nebraska community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
