Months after earning national recognition, the UNMC community is asked to keep the momentum going by taking the UNMC Office of Community Engagement\u2019s biannual engagement survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Individual Community Engagement Survey, which opens to all UNMC faculty, staff, students and residents on Monday, April 13, gathers information on community engagement activities and partnerships across the organization. It also measures key community engagement indicators and activities for academic health centers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survey results will be shared with the University of Nebraska president and build on the work that led UNMC to receive the 2026 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification<\/a>, one of the highest national honors recognizing an institution\u2019s commitment to community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is imperative that all who engage with community partners report their efforts using the survey link,\u201d said Heidi Keeler, PhD, assistant vice chancellor with the UNMC Office of Community Engagement. \u201cThe information collected helps us connect ‘like’ projects, find synergy across UNMC units and better articulate opportunities to community partners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane Meza, PhD, interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, agreed, adding the survey information is critical to shaping UNMC\u2019s strategic plan and will be used to report metrics for community engagement and partnerships across UNMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current survey, measuring engagement data from Jan. 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, is available in Microsoft Teams<\/a> and accessible to all UNMC users. Once the survey is complete, respondents can save and use the survey answers as a reference to augment the service component for annual evaluations.
