UNMC and Nebraska Medicine IT is updating how colleagues will sign in to Box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Effective at 6 p.m. CDT today (June 4), the organization will shift from ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services) to Microsoft Entra ID as the system that verifies a user\u2019s identity when they log in. This change helps improve security, reliability and the overall sign\u2011in experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The switch will occur outside of peak hours to minimize disruption, and colleagues still will be able to log in using their box credentials while the switch takes place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why the change?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft Entra ID provides stronger security features, better integration with modern cloud services, and a more consistent login experience across the apps colleagues use every day. By moving away from ADFS, the medical center is reducing complexity and relying on a more modern, cloud\u2011based identity platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For most users, this transition will be seamless. They will continue signing in to Box the same way they have, using their work email and password. The sign\u2011in page may look slightly different, reflecting Microsoft Entra branding instead of ADFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
