Under the guidance of MMI faculty and professional teaching artists, students develop advocacy skills, build upon their art skills and increase self-confidence while exploring a variety of mediums and art-based careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Rachel Ray, assistant professor at MMI, the event is an annual highlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt gives our students a chance to share who they are through their artwork,\u201d Ray said. \u201cWatching them develop new skills, take creative risks and see others appreciate their work is incredibly rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tom McLaughlin, arts educator at MMI, echoed those sentiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis year it was particularly gratifying to witness individual students really excel at developing their singular, unique voices while working in the larger language of artistic communication,\u201d McLaughlin
