The Munroe-Meyer Institute will be celebrating the five-year anniversary of its move to its state-of-the-art home at 6902 Pine Street on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10-11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical center community is invited to join MMI leaders, families, staff, community partners and friends in celebrating the building, which opened to patients in 2021 following a refurbishment that put it on the cutting edge nationally<\/a> of facilities serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, participant artwork, a photo booth, prizes and the opportunity to explore a fire truck and patrol car. Visitors will be offered abbreviated tours, along with the opportunity to meet providers and learn about the resources MMI has available for its clients and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are extraordinarily proud of our building, not merely for its unique design that allows us to facilitate integrated care for the individuals and families with disabilities and complex health care needs, but also for the initiatives, partnerships and new services we have been able to provide since it opened,\u201d said Melonie Welsh, Robert F. and Myrna L.
