The institutions on the list are recognized for driving research, pioneering treatments and conducting clinical trials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is Nebraska&#8217;s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, a distinction held by a select group of cancer centers nationwide. The designation recognizes excellence in cancer research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;As Nebraska&#8217;s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, we are uniquely positioned to bring groundbreaking research and clinical trials to patients across our state and region,\u201d said Joann Sweasy, PhD, director of the Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. \u201cWith researchers and clinicians working side by side, our team can quickly translate scientific discoveries into real-time patient care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Being recognized by Becker\u2019s reflects the personal, patient-centered care our teams provide every day,\u201d said Michaela Newman, executive director of operations for oncology services at Nebraska Medicine. \u201cFrom oncologists to nurses to genetic counselors, physical therapists, dietitians and many others, we work together to ensure each patient receives personalized support and treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Becker\u2019s editorial team selected programs based on recent recognitions and achievements.
