{"id":136765,"date":"2026-10-28T01:50:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-28T06:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=136765"},"modified":"2026-10-27T13:47:59","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T18:47:59","slug":"last-call-for-on-campus-flu-shots-in-omaha-is-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2026\/10\/28\/last-call-for-on-campus-flu-shots-in-omaha-is-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"Last call for on-campus flu shots in Omaha is Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last opportunity for UNMC faculty and staff to get on-campus flu shots in Omaha is Thursday, Oct. 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UNMC Omaha campus is partnering with Kohll\u2019s Rx to offer on-campus flu vaccine clinics for UNMC faculty and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees may choose to receive their flu vaccine at one of the Kohll\u2019s Rx on-campus clinics or through another vaccination provider. UNMC employees in Kearney, Lincoln, Norfolk and Scottsbluff are encouraged to receive their flu vaccination from their local pharmacy or healthcare provider.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Omaha, the on-campus clinics \u2013 which are separate from both the Nebraska Medicine and student flu vaccine clinics \u2013 will be available only to UNMC faculty and staff who <a href=\"https:\/\/clinics.kohllsrx.com\/unmc\/\">register in advance<\/a> (to verify employment, individuals also must bring their UNMC ID badge to the appointment). Walk-in appointments may be available on a limited basis; walk-ins must still register prior to receiving their vaccine. Note: This year\u2019s Nebraska Medicine\u2019s on-campus employee clinics are open only to Nebraska Medicine employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration remains open to UNMC faculty and staff for the on-campus clinics, which will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., University Towers, Private Dining Room A &amp; B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clinics.kohllsrx.com\/unmc\/c20261029\/\">Register for the Oct. 29 clinic<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Standard-dose and high-dose flu vaccines will be available. COVID-19 vaccine will not be available at the Kohll\u2019s Rx on-campus clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Insurance information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees with insurance coverage should upload their insurance card information during registration. Kohll\u2019s Rx will bill insurance providers directly for flu vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University of Nebraska health plan, administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, includes a flu shot benefit for employees who have completed their Health Risk Assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees covered by other insurance plans also may receive their flu vaccinations at Kohll\u2019s Rx on-campus clinics. Employees with non-NU insurance plans are encouraged to review their benefits before registering. Many major health insurance plans cover flu vaccinations at little or no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Log your flu vaccination<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As in previous years, UNMC employees are asked to record their vaccination status in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssl.nebraskamed.com\/EmployeeHealthTracking\/Login.aspx\">Health Tracking System<\/a>, regardless of where they received their flu vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do so, on step three, UNMC employees, should select \u201cI want to document that I got the flu vaccine somewhere else.\u201d UNMC employees should only be utilizing option two or three when documenting, as Nebraska Medicine Employee Health is not administering the vaccine. If UNMC personnel already have started the questions (selected that they will get their vaccine at Nebraska Medicine\/UNMC), they need to reset\/undo and select \u201cI want to document that I got the
