In the Oct. 27 plenary session, attended by more than 200 people from across the country, Dr. Webster and two other members presented a panel on \u201cThe AI Implementation Journey: Institutional Approaches in Health Professions Education.\u201d This panel brought together leaders from across health professions education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">-Fran Higgins, UNMC College of Allied Health Professions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Interprofessional team wins honor at national conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A UNMC team made of faculty from the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions and UNMC College of Medicine won first place in the scientific presentation competition at the recent Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) annual conference in Atlanta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The contest evaluates sonographers\u2019 original summary papers on clinical research, educational techniques, patient care, sonography department management, case studies presenting a diagnostic challenge, or other areas related to diagnostic medical sonography. UNMC won for its study, \u201cDo Sonography Students Value Interprofessional Education? Perceptions Following an IPE Activity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"> Kate Wampler, Jessica Umbra, Christopher Smith, MD, and Kim Michael, EdD, were co-investigators. The interprofessional research study was originally funded with a grant from the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators. Wampler was named an SDMS Fellow at the conference. She is an assistant professor and clinical education coordinator for the UNMC Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
