\nOn Tuesday, UNMC and NHS employees tried their hand at riding a handcar — in a UNMC parking lot. <\/p>\n

The handcar and temporary railroad track were brought to campus Tuesday as part the Golden Spike Invitational Handcar Race, which will be Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Durham Western Heritage Museum. The handcar invitational is being sponsored by Union Pacific Railroad and benefits the Ronald McDonald House and Special Olympics.<\/p>\n
