The 29-question survey will provide UNMC with baseline data on the attitudes employees have about UNMC. <\/p>\n<p><b>Building employee loyalty, satisfaction<\/b><\/p>\n<p>UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., has emphasized creating a culture that builds employee loyalty and satisfaction in UNMC&#8217;s 2002-2005 Strategic Plan. The survey, which employees will fill out online during a two-week window, will enable campus leaders to gather data and identify ways to improve the working environment. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will enable us to better design and tailor programs to address areas where employees say we have shortcomings,&#8221; said John Russell, executive director of Human Resources at UNMC. &#8220;The survey will take only a few minutes to complete and is completely confidential so employees can answer it with absolute honesty.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Robert Anderson, Ph.D., vice president of Career Design, Inc., agreed. &#8220;Anonymity is absolutely assured,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The company (UNMC) only sees group data.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>Surveys will be sent soon <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Employees soon will receive an e-mail from Career Design, Inc., explaining the confidential survey. Employees also will receive a randomly generated access code, which they will use to access the survey. Once the survey is completed, their access code is purged from the system. <\/p>\n<p>The survey will be sent to all full- and part-time employees, excluding temporary employees, within the next week or two. Employees will receive a written survey only if they do not have a Lotus Notes account, or access to a computer, or if they request a written survey. <\/p>\n<p><b>Survey benefits all<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The survey was developed based on years of research on commitment and retention issues. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The survey is a wonderful starting point because the initial survey red flags areas of concern,&#8221; Dr. Anderson said. &#8220;I&#8217;d encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey because it&#8217;s to everyone&#8217;s advantage.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p><b>More on Career Design, Inc.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Career Design, Inc. is a forerunner in the field of career management consulting.
