Construction on the new Center for Clinical Excellence (CCE) has begun. In the coming weeks and months, more construction activity will take place. <\/p>\n

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, the intersection of 44th Street and Dewey Avenue will be closed until further notice. Various utilities run underneath the intersection, and contractors will need access to them in the coming months. A great deal of construction and material handling will take place near the intersection. The closing of the intersection will not interrupt access to the University Tower and Clarkson Tower docks or UMA Parking Lot 3.<\/p>\n

The construction also will have other effects on campus, including a revised shuttle route (see second story). Others changes that employees may notice include: <\/p>\n

Lot 3 access road constructed<\/b>
\nDue to the construction, a temporary access road will be constructed leading to Lot 3. Anyone authorized to park in Lot 3 should utilize the 45th and Emile streets route and follow appropriate signage. The road will open on June 7.<\/p>\n

University Tower north drive closed<\/b>
\nThe access drive located on the north side of the University Tower will be closed permanently, beginning June 7.<\/p>\n

MRI 2 relocated<\/b>
\nMRI 2, located on level 2 of University Tower, will be relocated to a temporary site on the west side of Clarkson Tower. After construction of the Center for Clinical Excellence is complete, all MRI and CT functions will be located in the new building.<\/p>\n

Clarkson stairwell closed<\/b>
\nThe southwest stairwell of Clarkson Tower will be closed for the duration of the construction project. The stairwell will be available on a limited basis as an emergency exit. All traffic that uses this exit for access to the UMA building and the west side of the Clarkson Tower will need to find alternate routes. <\/p>\n<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
