{"id":20947,"date":"2003-11-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-11-12T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2003\/11\/12\/second-destination-midtown-design-workshop-nov-17-20\/"},"modified":"2003-11-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-11-12T06:00:00","slug":"second-destination-midtown-design-workshop-nov-17-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2003\/11\/12\/second-destination-midtown-design-workshop-nov-17-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Destination Midtown design workshop Nov. 17-20"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The public is invited to attend the second Destination Midtown design workshop Nov. 17-20on the second floor of Mutual of Omaha&#8217;s Innowave Building, 3201 Farnam St. <\/p>\n<p>The workshop will focus on refining the general concepts and design ideas that were developed during the first workshop in late August.  <\/p>\n<p>Designers from HDR will examine in detail the opportunities available for mixed-use, pedestrian oriented development between Dodge and Leavenworth Streets.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop also will examine opportunities for public space development and transportation improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Bisson, project manager for Destination Midtown, said the best ideas presented at the late August workshop are to be refined during the November workshops. &#8220;We came up with several ideas on how to make this area great,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It all centers on creating great neighborhoods, addressing traffic issues and creating great public spaces.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The design workshop public input schedule is as follows:<br \/>\n<UL><br \/>\n<LI>Monday, Nov. 17, noon to 1:30 p.m. project kickoff<br \/>\n<LI>Tuesday, Nov. 18, noon to 1:30 p.m., progress review. Bring your own lunch; 6 p.m. progress review.<br \/>\n<LI>Wednesday, Nov. 19, 6 p.m., progress review.<br \/>\n<LI>Thursday, Nov. 20, 6 p.m., final presentation.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>Parking is available in the lot east of the building. Overflow parking is available in Mutual&#8217;s visitor lot on 33rd Street between Farnam and Dodge Streets.
