Beginning incredible developments in medical research.<\/p>\n<p>These were the sentiments donors voiced when it came to giving $75 million to build a research center on the UNMC campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It isn&#8217;t something we have to do. It isn&#8217;t something we need to do. But it&#8217;s something that&#8217;s in your heart,&#8221; said Michael Yanney, chairman of the board of the America First Companies and one of the major donors to the Durham Research Center. <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/durham\/donors\/donors.htm\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit the Durham Research Center Web site to learn more about these generous individuals.<\/i><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b>Durham Research Center dedication<\/b><br \/>\n<UL><LI>Thursday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. in the building&#8217;s auditorium. A number of dignataries will be on hand, as well as the donors who make the building possible.<br \/>\n<LI>All-campus celebration follows until 3 p.m. with refreshments, tours of the first floor, T-shirt sales, commemorative calendar posters.<br \/>\n<LI>The dedication will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.unmc.edu\/durham and archived for later viewing.<br \/>\n<LI>The dedication also will be broadcast live via satellite on NET 2, Channel 105 to the following sites: University of Nebraska at Kearney &#8212; Communication Building, Room 241; Scottsbluff &#8212; Panhandle Station, Room 201; and Lincoln &#8212; UNMC College of Dentistry, Room 4.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p><b>Public open house of the Durham Research Center<\/b><br \/>\n<UL><LI>Sunday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.<br \/>\n<LI>See first-hand the state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and auditorium on the first floor.<br \/>\n<LI>Refreshments will be served.<\/UL><\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"\/secure-location.php\" title=\"j GZdr Z \">j GZdr Z <\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Making a difference.
