The two met for the first time July 24 at the annual transplant reunion held by The Nebraska Medical Center. <\/p>\n<p>Aadland, 52, had contacted the medical center a few years ago to let them know she&#8217;d be willing to anonymously donate a kidney. In April, she got the call and a chance to change the life of King, 55.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a touching story that demonstrates what goes on every day in he world of transplantation,&#8221; said Alan Langnas, D.O., chief of transplantation at The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC professor of surgery. &#8220;Transplantation is based completely on the generosity of families who chose to give the gift of life to others.
