Dr. Shiffermiller&#8217;s main duty will be inpatient attending. He also will be involved in formal medical student and resident education. In addition, he will help develop the academic hospitalist program and identify hospital-based clinical research opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><b>Specialty: <\/b>Internal medicine <\/p>\n<p><b>Medical degree: <\/b>UNMC<\/p>\n<p><b>Residency: <\/b>UNMC<\/p>\n<p><b>Previous positions: <\/b>Hospitalist at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln from July 2001 until December 2005.<\/p>\n<p><b>Memberships: <\/b>Member of American Medical Association, 1994-present; member of American College of Physicians, 1999-present.<\/p>\n<p><b>Clinic hours: <\/b>Dr. Shiffermiller covers the Acute Care Clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Internal Medicine Clinic in the Durham Outpatient Center. He does pre-ops on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center. <\/p>\n<p>UNMC departments are encouraged to send information on new faculty members to UNMC Today at today@unmc.edu.
