He also negotiates license agreements that will foster partnerships for the commercialization of the technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Headley joined UNeMed Corporation in March 2006 after working at the Iowa State University Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer where he was a senior licensing associate. At Iowa State, he was responsible for managing the process of marketing, commercialization and licensing intellectual property related to the life sciences developed at the university.<\/p>\n<p>Headley&#8217;s professional background also includes 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry where he served in various managerial roles overseeing product development, technology transfer, manufacturing and project management. <\/p>\n<p>Headley is responsible for marketing and licensing UNMC technologies for commercial development and representing UNeMed Corporation beyond the UNMC and Omaha communities. He also acts as a resource for entrepreneurial faculty who are interested in forming a new company for commercialization of their research activities. <\/p>\n<p>Headley received his bachelor&#8217;s degrees in microbiology and environmental management from South Dakota State University in 1991 and his master&#8217;s degree in business administration in 2000 from Iowa State University.
