That’s the story at the Health Professions Tracking Center, which recently rolled out this year’s edition of the “Directory of Nebraska and Western Iowa Healthcare Resources.”<\/p>\n

“Each year we find new ways our directory can be used to provide accurate health care information to those who need it,” said Marlene Deras, HPTC operations manager. “This makes our directory an increasingly valuable asset.” <\/p>\n

New to the directory this year, which expanded to 392 pages, is information about life care communities and homes, such as assisted living and nursing home facilities. <\/p>\n

Also added was information about medical suppliers and services. The Service and Supplier section includes medical alarms, medical billing services, medical equipment and supplies, and more. <\/p>\n

The directory is an easy-to-use volume filled with valuable health-care information. The directory is broken down by profession and practice location and includes listings of physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, practice locations, hospitals, pharmacies and members of the Nebraska Optometric Association. <\/p>\n

“As always, the directory provides current health-care information for Nebraska and Western Iowa,” HPTC Director Kolene Kohll said. “We are constantly working to make sure all our information is correct and up-to-date.” <\/p>\n

HPTC’s mission is to be the primary source of health-professions information for workforce planning, biosecurity preparedness and formulation of health policies to support recruitment and retention needs. HPTC is a valuable resource for the Nebraska’s Health Alert Network. <\/p>\n

“HPTC data is used by state officials to send health alerts when the need arises,” Deras said. “Other states and organizations have sought our advice and aid in trying to set up similar tracking systems.” <\/p>\n

The directories cost $72 each when purchasing five or fewer; $67 each for orders of six to 10 directories; and $62 each when ordering 11 or more. Campus shipping and handling is $4 for one directory and $1 for each additional directory. <\/p>\n
