Gary Kastrick, a life-long resident of south Omaha and teacher at South High School, will talk about the events that made this area a key part of the city during a noon lecture on Tuesday in the College of Nursing, Rooms 1011 and 1012.<\/p>\n

The lecture is part of partnership series between UNMC and the Durham Western Heritage Museum. UNMC employees are encouraged to bring lunch and enjoy the lecture, which is free. <\/p>\n

Kastrick also will give a lecture titled “The Magic City and the Stockyards” on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Durham Western Heritage Museum’s Swanson Gallery. Employees and students of UNMC, UNMC Physicians and The Nebraska Medical Center can attend the museum lecture free with valid identification.<\/p>\n

Kastrick is a graduate of South High School, where he currently is a history teacher as well as the director of the “Omaha Project,” a museum at the school created and designed by students in his classes.<\/p>\n
